Developing Your Hero, Part 6: How to Craft Your Moral Statement

In this 9-part series I’ll show you how to reinvent yourself as the protagonist (the hero) of your own real-life story. I’ll do it 100 words at a time. Take control of your narrative again.

From the previous post, your worldview (map) validates your values (compass), which validates your actions (vehicle). So you already have the answer to your moral statement! It simplifies your entire map filled with rivers, turns, peaks and valleys to a straight line from Embarkment to Destination. Jonah Sachs calls it the “moral of your story.” In 7–10 words, here’s mine:

“No matter where you are, your purpose will find you.”

Your moral statement isn’t a tagline. It’s a truth line. Not an imperative, but a declarative. Short. Simple. Powerful. It’s a “This is what happens when…” statement. Still need help? I break this down further in the next article.
