Nick Babich, great article. I could be mistaken, but the neuomorphism movement may also adversely impact Design Systems, since it appears to be based primarily on aesthetics, as you’ve mentioned, vs. a functional (even if it’s symbolic) representation of common patterns users already know.

I think this also helped me to appreciate Apple’s incremental UX strategy. I used to think they were neglecting innovation. But from a UX heuristics perspective, their roadmap timely. Slow, but methodical.
